• Over the weekend, Continental Gold announced that its was on track to complete permitting for its Buriticá (100%) gold project in Colombia, by the end of Q2/15.
• Management suggested that for an update expected at the end of Q2/15 it has an internal target of seeing mineral resources grow by up to 1 Moz overall, with a M&I resource goal of 3+ Moz.
• We note that the company has been successful in growing resources from 3.1 Moz at 12.3 g/t (Jun 2011) to 5.4 Moz at 9.9 g/t (Jun 2012) to 7.0 Moz at 8.7 g/t (Dec 2013).
• Moreover, Continental announced that following the completion of permitting and an updated mineral resource (mid-2015), that it may initiate a feasibility study on Buriticá, with the goal of completing the study by mid-2016.

Ressourcen-Potential bestätigt: Gold Standard legt zweite, attraktive Ressourcen-Schätzung für Nevada-Goldprojekt vor

Oberflächennahe Vorkommen mit Oxid-Gold werden zunehmend an Reiz gewinnen. Gold Standard hat nun ein zweites Goldvorkommen erfolgreich definiert.

Der kanadische Explorer und Projekt-Entwickler Gold Standard Ventures (TSX-V:GSV) verkündet eine weitere gute Nachricht. Die Firma legte eine ansehnliche, erste Ressourcen-Schätzung für das Dark Star-Goldvorkommen auf dem großen Railroad-Pinion-Projekt in Nevada vor, das sich zu 100% im Besitz der Firma befindet.

Die neue Ressourcen-Schätzung ist NI 43-101 konform und wurde von der etablierten Geologie-Firma APEX Geoscience von Edmonton fertiggestellt. Innerhalb von 45 Tagen wird ein umfangreicher Report zu der Schätzung auf sedar.com mit zahlreichen, visuellen Einblicken publiziert.

Gold Standard ist es auf Dark Star gelungen, eine abgeleitete Ressource mit einem Umfang von 23,11 Mio. Tonnen Erz bei Gehalten von 0,51 Gramm Gold pro Tonne erfolgreich zu definieren. Dies entspricht einer Ressourcen-Größe von 375.000 Goldunzen bei einem Cut-off Gehalt von 0,14 Gramm Gold pro Tonne, welcher auch in einer benachbarten und sehr profitablen Tagebau-Goldmine (Newmont Mining) verwendet wird.

Im Hinblick auf die solide Ressourcen-Schätzung kann Gold Standard folgende Highlights feststellen:

• Das Dark Star Goldvorkommen befindet sich 2,1km vom Pinion-Goldvorkommen entfernt, für das Gold Standard im Herbst 2014 eine erste Ressourcen-Schätzung publizierte.
• Zwischen den zwei anfänglich definierten Goldvorkommen gibt es einen relativ flachen Land-Abschnitt, der für die zukünftigen Gold-Verarbeitungsanlagen definitiv prädestiniert wäre.
• Selbst wenn der Cut-Off Gehalt um bspw. mehr als 100% auf 0,30 Gramm pro Tonne erhöht wird, verringert sich die Goldunzen-Anzahl in der Ressource nur gering. Dies unterstreicht eine gute Kontinuität und Gehaltsstabilität bei den identifizierten Gold-Mineralisierungen.
• Die aktuelle Ressource wurde mittels der Durchführung und Auswertung von 105 historischen Bohrkernen erreicht, die auf Oxid-Mineralisierungen fokussiert waren.
• Die Mineralisierungen auf Dark Star verlaufen auf einer höheren, stratigraphischen Ebene als die Mineralisierungen auf Pinion.
• Die gefundenen Mineralisierungen sind in mehreren Richtungen offen, wobei sich ein signifikantes Explorations-Potential ergibt. Gold Standard visiert im Rahmen des Phase 3 Railroad-Pinion-Dark Star Bohrprogramms Ressourcen-Expansionsbohrungen an. Das nächste Bohr- und Explorationsprogramm wird planmäßig noch diesen Frühling gestartet.
• Die Goldmineralisierung steht mit einer nördlich bis nordöstlich verlaufenden Verkieselungszone in Zusammenhang, die entlang nach Westen abfallender Kontakte gebündelt ist und sich innerhalb eines grobkörnigen Konglomerats und einer bioklastischen Kalksteineinheit, zwischen darunter- und darüber liegenden, relativ undurchlässigen Schluffsteineinheiten befindet. Dieses Sedimentgestein wird von dünnen Rhyolitherdwallen durchschnitten, die Teil einer nördlich verlaufenden Zone mit Verwerfungen, Erdwallen und Verkieselungen sind und entlang der Ostseite des Abschnitts Pinion verlaufen, der als Dark Star Structural Trend bekannt ist.
• Aufgrund der guten seitlichen Beständigkeit der Mineralisierung wird das Potenzial für die Umwandlung abgeleiteter Ressourcen in angezeigte Ressourcen mittels zukünftiger Bohrungen als hoch angesehen.
• Die Lagerstätte tritt zutage und weist im Allgemeinen eine geringe Tiefe auf, was auf wahrscheinlich günstige Abraumverhältnisse hinweist.
• Aufgrund der guten seitlichen Beständigkeit der Mineralisierung wird das Potenzial für die Umwandlung abgeleiteter Ressourcen in angezeigte Ressourcen mittels zukünftiger Bohrungen als hoch angesehen.
• Die Lagerstätte tritt zutage und weist im Allgemeinen eine geringe Tiefe auf, was auf wahrscheinlich günstige Abraumverhältnisse hinweist. 

Jonathan Awde, Gold Standard’s Präsident und CEO, ist mit den letzten Fortschritten sehr zufrieden und kommentiert wie folgend: „Unser Ziel besteht darin, die Oxidressourcen des Tagebaubetriebs Pinion aufzustocken, bevor zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt in diesem Jahr eine Preliminary Economic Assessment erstellt wird. Wir sind der Auffassung, dass Dark Star einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Erreichen dieses Ziels leisten könnte. Die gesamten Anschaffungskosten für diese neue Ressource beliefen sich auf weniger als 1 $ pro Ressourcenunze. Der nächste Schritt ist ein erweitertes Bohrprogramm, das Anfang des zweiten Quartals beginnen sollte. Unserer Meinung nach haben wir gerade erst begonnen, an der Oberfläche eines anscheinend äußerst umfassenden oberflächennahen Goldsystems im Gebiet Pinion zu kratzen, das nun erstmals von einem Unternehmen zusammengelegt wurde.“
