The following chart of the CRB Index sums up what has been a very challenging past few months for commodities:

It is hard to say anything positive about the short term prospects for commodities other than they should put it in a tradable short term bottom at some point in the next few weeks (Elliott Wave theorists will notice that this is likely the ‘5th wave’ of the decline which began in June).
It is also interesting to note that equities have generally begun to roll over shortly after commodities – thus far, such a correction in equities has not materialized in the current market environment..
