Vancouver, B.C., September 8, 2016 – Arizona Mining Inc. (TSX: AZ) (“Arizona Mining” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the results of HDS-361 from its current program targeting the expansion of the Taylor Zn-Pb-Ag sulfide deposit located on its 100% owned Hermosa Project in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. HDS-361 and the other recently completed drill holes continue to expand the maiden resource announced on February 1, 2016 of 39.4 million inferred tonnes grading 11% zinc equivalent.
HDS-361 is located on the southwest boundary of the Alta Patented Claim (see map below). The drill hole encountered eight (8) separate and distinct mineralized intervals including a 504.5 foot interval which assayed 6.51% zinc, 4.88% lead, 0.12% copper and 1.72 ounces per ton (“opt”) silver. Included within this 504.5 foot thick interval were two higher grade intervals including a 105 foot thick zone which assayed 13.65% zinc, 10.33% lead, 0.30% copper and 3.36 opt silver and a second 73 foot thick zone which assayed 15.20% zinc, 11.20% lead, 0.25% copper and 3.89 opt silver..

Mr. Washnock will work with Excelsior’s management team to help plan and organize all aspects of the Gunnison Copper Project, including mine design, procurement, construction, start-up and commissioning; he will also assist management with the care and maintenance operations at the Johnson Camp Mine (JCM). He has direct experience with in-situ copper recovery mining, and his hiring comes as Excelsior prepares for the anticipated commencement of commercial production in 2018.
Mr. Washnock brings a wealth of copper mining experience specific to all aspects of mine production management. He has extensive expertise in the areas of solvent extraction electrowinning (SX-EW) plant operations, electrorefining, electro-metallurgy/chemistry, copper leach kinetics and environmental regulatory compliance. The vast majority of his 40-year career has centered on SX-EW copper recovery projects in Arizona.
Mr. Washnock has held managerial positions with Freeport McMoRan Mining Company since 2008. Most recently, he was the Manager of Leach Optimization at the Safford Technology Center, with primary emphasis on the Safford Mine and Morenci Mine leach operations. From 2009 to 2012, he was the Manager of the Hydrometallurgical Division at Freeport McMoRan’s Bagdad SX-EW facilities, where he was responsible for the production of high-grade copper cathode. From 2008-2009 he was responsible for high-grade cathode production at Freeport McMoRan’s Tyrone Operations. As General Manager for the Lisbon Valley Mining Company, from 2004-2008, he successfully developed, designed, constructed and started-up a greenfields SX-EW copper operation. From 1996 to 2004 he was the SX-EW Operations Manager for the Silver Bell Solvent Extraction Electrowinning Project.
From 1991 to 1994 he was the Manager of Leaching & SX-EW Operations for Magma Copper Company’s Pinto Valley Mining Division. In this role he was responsible for the production of high-grade cathode, including copper recovery from in-situ leaching operations.

Arizona Mining Inc. has entered into a term sheet with Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. for a 1-per-cent net smelter royalty on any lead/zinc/silver sulphide ores mined from its Hermosa project for proceeds of $10-million. In addition, Osisko and certain of its insiders will subscribe for a total of 9.99 million units at a price of 56 cents per unit, calculated using the five-day volume-weighted average share price, for gross proceeds of $5.59-million. Each unit consists of one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant. Each whole common share purchase warrant is convertible into one common share of the company at a price of 75 cents for a period of 18 months from closing.
Proceeds from the financings when combined with the company's recent private placement for $2.8-million will be primarily used for an aggressive drill campaign on the Taylor deposit and for general working capital purposes. The royalty is subject to negotiation of a definitive agreement. Closing of the private placement is subject to regulatory approval.
Jim Gowans, Arizona Mining's president and chief executive officer, commented: "The drilling to date that comprises the current resource on the Taylor deposit only tests a small portion of the prospective terrain as defined by geology, geophysics and historic drilling. (TSX VENTURE: MIN) (FRANKFURT : 3XS) (OTCQX : EXMGF) ("Excelsior" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the results of a comprehensive Updated Prefeasibility Study ("Updated PFS") on the North Star Deposit of the Gunnison Copper Project, located in Cochise County, southeastern Arizona. The project is designed as a copper in-situ recovery ("ISR") mine using solvent extraction-electrowinning ("SX-EW"). The Updated PFS was completed as a result of the recent acquisition of the Johnson Camp Mine ("JCM") and staged production approach which have dramatically lowered initial capital costs to $45.9 million. Excelsior has also made progress on its permitting process and an update is included below in this news release.
Updated Prefeasibility Study Results
Highlights of the North Star Gunnison Copper Project Updated PFS (United States dollars)
- Net Present Value ("NPV") of $1.2 billion pre-tax and $829 million post-tax
- at 7.5% discount rate using a life of mine ("LOM") copper price of $2.75/lb;
- Internal Rate of Return ("IRR") of 57.9% pre-tax and 45.8% post-tax;
- Initial construction capital costs of $45.9 million
- includes 20% contingency, 16% EPCM, freight, mobile equipment, owner's costs and capital spares;
- Payback period for initial capital of 1.8 years pre-tax and 2.6 years post-tax;
- Average life-of-mine operating costs of $0.70/lb;
- All-In Cost (all capital plus operating costs) of $1.24/lb;
- Sensitivity analysis at a LOM copper price of $2.00/lb generates an IRR of 30.8% pre-tax and 26.2% post-tax.
- Over 850 million pounds of copper added to the probable mineral reserve, an increase of 24%;
- Mine life of 27 years;
- Staged production profile: initial production rate of 25 million pounds of copper cathode per annum using the existing JCM facilities, followed by an intermediate expansion stage to 75 million pounds per annum and final expansion stage to full production of 125 million pounds per annum (includes the construction of an acid plant at full production). The staged production profile makes possible the funding of future expansions out of cash flow;
- Staged production approach lowers initial capital costs, reduces financing risk and speeds the timeline to first production.

Desert Star is conducting a diamond drill program (approximately 2100 meters) targeting a significant porphyry-style alteration footprint that coincides with historic copper workings and an IP geophysical anomaly, approximately 5km from the Resolution Copper Project (Fig. 1).
Copper King is situated in a prolific, high-grade copper camp, and the drill target is characterized by local high-temperature alteration of porphyry dikes and diabase intrusions, in addition to evidence of telescoping, similar to that documented at other deposits in the district. The Copper King project is underlain by favorable host rocks and has no post mineral cover (as at the Resolution Copper Project), as porphyry-style alteration exists at surface. Copper King Exploration Highlights
Field work conducted by Desert Star Resources at the Copper King Project has consisted of 1:5000 scale geological mapping, clay alteration studies (short wave infrared measured by Terraspec), and a 3D Volterra IP study by SJ Geophysics. This work has defined a 4 x 5 kilometer anomaly that is prospective for porphyry copper mineralization, located approximately 5 kilometers away from the Resolution Copper Deposit. High grade copper is found in small-scale historic workings on the property, and geological mapping and sampling have accurately mapped the distribution of diabase, limestone/marble and quartz diorite units which are favorable host rocks, and have the capacity to host high-grade copper mineralization.

This work has defined a 4 x 5 kilometer anomaly that is prospective for porphyry copper mineralization, located approximately 5 kilometers away from the Resolution Copper Deposit. High grade copper is found in small-scale historic workings on the property, and geological mapping and sampling have accurately mapped the distribution of diabase, limestone/marble and quartz diorite units which are favorable host rocks, and have the capacity to host high-grade copper mineralization.
The Copper King footprint contains a large volume of quartz-sericite-pyrite (QSP) and marble-serpentine-calc-silicate altered rocks with smaller internal zones of secondary biotite, silica and tremolite, all of which can occur above and lateral to copper mineralization in porphyry systems. Copper King is cored by a large IP anomaly consisting of a coincident chargeability high/resistivity low measuring 1.3 x 1.1 kilometers. This response is consistent with the expected response from disseminated sulphides associated with porphyry copper mineralization.

Nach einer langen Wartezeit, auf die Kupfer-Junior Desert Star Resources (TSX-V:DSR) keinen Einfluss hatte, gab es jetzt endlich positive News von den Behörden.
Wie der Kupfer-Explorer vor kurzer Zeit mitteilte, wurde von der zuständigen Permitting-Behörde (U.S. Forest Service) grünes Licht für die erste Bohrkampagne gegeben. Mit der ausgestellten Drilling-Genehmigung ist es Desert Star nun erlaubt, an 10 Bohrzielen auf dem attraktiven Copper King Projekt in Arizona aktiv zu werden.

Für das erste detaillierte Bohrprogramm auf den Liegenschaften von Copper King in Arizona benötigt Desert Star noch eine entscheidende Genehmigung. Der Ball liegt weiterhin bei den Behörden und die Juniorfirma hat leider keinen Einfluss auf die Dauer des Permitting Prozesses. Hatte gestern noch einen weiteren, kurzen Austausch mit Vince Sorace, CEO und Präsident von Desert Star Resources (TSX-V:DSR). Desert Star sollte in naher Zukunft weitere News zum herausfordernden Permitting-Prozess verkünden und wird dann in meinen Augen einen verlässlicheren Fahrplan vorlegen können. Vermutlich bis spätestens nach der Sommerpause.
Nach wie vor hängt der Ball bzgl. den Bohr-Genehmigungen für die Kupfer-Projekte Copper King und Red Top, die sich in der direkten Nachbarschaft von zahlreichen großen Kupferminen befinden (BHP, Rio Tinto, Freeport), bei den Behörden. Desert Star hat daher nachvollziehbar kaum Einfluss auf die Dauer des Genehmigungs-Prozesses. Dennoch "Fingers crossed", damit der aussichtsreiche Kupfer-Junior an der Explorations-Front hoffentlich bald Gas geben kann!

Excelsior Mining Corp. The results generated hydrological conductivities in the range expected for typical fracture controlled deposits and show the deposit is suitable for in-situ recovery (“ISR”) operations. These results will be incorporated into a full Feasibility Study scheduled for completion in 2016.
Commenting on these results, President and CEO Stephen Twyerould said, “The successful completion of the hydrology test program is a major milestone in the advancement of our Gunnison Copper Project. AGREEMENT EXTENSIONS AND CORPORATE UPDATE
Desert Star Resources Ltd. and Eurasian Minerals Inc. have signed amendment agreements for both the Red Top and Copper King projects, by which the parties have agreed to extend the time by which Desert Star is required to incur exploration expenditures and make AMR payments under the Sept. 13, 2013, option agreements, as amended.
The company will also be extending the maturity date of $495,000 of convertible notes from Sept. 9, 2015, for one year to Sept. 9, 2016, as agreed between the company and the holders of the notes. The conversion terms and interest rate will remain the same as disclosed in the company's Sept. 9, 2014, news release. The extension of the maturity date and underlying convertible securities is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

AGREEMENT EXTENSIONS AND CORPORATE UPDATE
Desert Star Resources Ltd. and Eurasian Minerals Inc. have signed amendment agreements for both the Red Top and Copper King projects, by which the parties have agreed to extend the time by which Desert Star is required to incur exploration expenditures and make AMR payments under the Sept. 13, 2013, option agreements, as amended.
The exploration expenditure requirements and AMR payments that were required to be completed and paid by the second anniversary date of the option agreements are now due six months following the parties' receipt of written approval from the U.S. Forest Service regarding permitting for drilling of the projects. Each of the third and subsequent anniversary expenditure requirements and AMR payments due under the option agreements (as disclosed in Desert Star's Sept. 4, 2013, news release) will now fall annually on the anniversary of the new expenditure date.
Desert Star and Eurasian Minerals continue to work diligently with the U.S. Forest Service toward the issuance of the drill permits for the Red Top and Copper King projects.

The company will also be extending the maturity date of $495,000 of convertible notes from Sept. 9, 2015, for one year to Sept. 9, 2016, as agreed between the company and the holders of the notes. The conversion terms and interest rate will remain the same as disclosed in the company's Sept. 9, 2014, news release. The extension of the maturity date and underlying convertible securities is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Metallurgical Fracture Simulation Tests Validate Prefeasibility Results
Excelsior Mining Corp. (TSX-V: MIN) (Frankfurt: 3XS) (OTCQX: EXMGF) ("Excelsior" or the “Company”) is pleased to announce final metallurgical results for the Gunnison Copper Project in Arizona. These comprehensive results will be incorporated into a full Feasibility Study scheduled for completion in 2016.
The final results from ten fracture simulation box tests can be found in Table 1 below. Results indicate that copper leaches rapidly and relatively uniformly across all rock types.
Forward modelling of the recovery time curves and acid consumption curves (see graphs) indicate average acid consumption at 100% acid soluble copper recovery (approximately 70% total copper recovery), would be in the range of 8 to 10 pounds of acid consumed for every pound of copper cathode produced. This is consistent with the previously reported Prefeasibility Study that used approximately 8.1 pounds of acid consumed for every pound of copper cathode produced.
Commenting on these results, Stephen Twyerould, President and C.E.O. said, “These results are completely in-line with the results from our 2014 Prefeasibility Study and fully support the industry leading economics that define our Gunnison Copper Project. Oliver Gross (OG): Freut mich, dass wir heute für ein Interview zusammenkommen, um den Aktionären und allen interessierten Marktteilnehmern ein informatives Update über die attraktive Explorations-Story zur Verfügung stellen können. Das macht ja vor allem vor dem Start der heißen Phase für Desert Star nun mehr als Sinn. Vince, gebe uns doch für den Anfang bitte eine kurze Übersicht über die Desert Star-Story und erzähle uns, was die Firma im Vergleich zu den hunderten Juniorfirmen an der TSX-Venture so besonders macht?
Vince Sorace (VS): Sehr gerne. Es beginnt mit dem Team, das im Junior Mining Business stets elementare Bedeutung hat. Deser Star hat ein wahrhaftig herausragendes, technisches Team zusammengeführt, das von starken und ambitionierten Finanz- und Geschäfts-Leuten unterstützt wird. Somit ergibt sich eine sehr gute Kombination. Das ist die erste Voraussetzung für ein solides Fundament und in meinen Augen ein entscheidender, erster Schritt, bevor man überhaupt in diesem Sektor loslegt. Vor diesem Hintergrund heben wir uns von sehr vielen Junior Mining Firmen in Nordamerika ab.
Wir denken, dass die gegenwärtigen Marktkonditionen beste Chancen bieten, großartige Projekte zu erwerben, zu explorieren und zu entwickeln. Sofern man natürlich in der Lage ist, dies zu bewerkstelligen und zu finanzieren. Denn ein Großteil der Junior-Minenfirmen weltweit hat kein Kapital, um operativ bedeutend voranzuschreiten, geschweige denn zu explorieren. Aber wir sehen ganz klar, dass trotz der enorm herausfordernden Marktlage immer noch Kapital zur Verfügung steht, das interessiert ist, sich an den richtigen Leuten mit den richtigen Projekten (die auch in diesem Markt Sinn machen) zu beteiligen.
Ebenfalls haben wir einen klar definierten Fokus. Die meisten der "einfachen" Rohstoff-Vorkommen, die an der Oberfläche liegen bzw. lagen, sind in den etablierten Minennationen de facto ausgebeutet. So denken wir, dass die nächste Welle an relevanten Entdeckungen tiefere Vorkommen sein werden.
So haben wir ganz bewusst uns mit der Zusammenstellung des technischen Teams darauf spezialisiert und fokussiert, die richtigen Expertisen und Erfahrungsschätze zusammen zu bringen, welche sich mit der Entdeckung und Entwicklung von tieferen Kupfer-Lagerstätten auskennen. Ganz oft deuten ja historische Aktivitäten oder Oberflächen-Anomalien auf solche kupfer-haltigen Mineral-Systeme in tieferen Regionen hin. Den tieferen Lagerstätten wurde bis dahin nicht die größte Beachtung geschenkt, da es natürlich leichter und profitabler für die Kupferunternehmen war, höher-gradige Vorkommen mit Oberflächennähe auszubeuten. Doch das wird sich jetzt zunehmend ändern.
Wir sind sehr optimistisch, dass wir gerade in den etablierten Minenbezirken von einem Kupfer-Staat wie Arizona sehr gute Chancen haben, bedeutende Neuentdeckungen mit dieser anderen Herangehensweise (in puncto Geologie und Lokalisierung des Mineral-Systems) zu erzielen.
Bei der Projekt-Selektion waren wir sehr wählerisch und haben strenge Kriterien angewendet. Vor allem vor dem Hintergrund, da tiefere Vorkommen eine gewisse Größe und attraktive Kupfer-Gehalte vorweisen müssen, um für die großen Minenkonzerne interessant zu sein. Wir haben uns ebenfalls vor Augen geführt, dass wir bei einer erfolgreichen Exploration einige Targets testen müssen, um überhaupt die Chance zu haben, eine signifikante Entdeckung zu erzielen. Mit dem Bohr-Test auf unseren ausgewählten Zielen Red Top und Copper King blicken wir sehr optimistisch in die Zukunft, hier ein großes Potential auf multiple Discoveries zu haben.
OG: Hört sich alles sehr gut an. Weshalb habt ihr euch auf Arizona fokussiert?
VS: Das Business im Südwesten von Amerika, speziell im etablierten Minen-Staat von Arizona, offeriert uns nicht nur eine langjährige Minen-Kultur, sondern ebenfalls beständige Gesetze und eine sehr gute Infrastruktur. Wir sind zudem in einer geopolitisch sehr sicheren Lage und können uns glücklich schätzen, direkt im Herzen einer der am meisten bewährten Kupfer-Minenbezirke der Welt aktiv zu sein.
So kommen wir in den Genuss von einer Chance auf eine Kupfer-Discovery, ohne dabei fürchten zu müssen, dass eine korrupte Regierung uns das Projekt in Zukunft wegnimmt oder die Minen-Gesetze über Nacht ändert. Weiter erwarten wir auch keine negativen Änderungen im Hinblick auf die Besteuerung von Minen-Projekten oder unerwarteten Gegenwind im Projekt-Entwicklungs- und Minen-Genehmigungs-Prozess später. Das sind alles große Vorteile und heute sehr viel wert.
Außerdem ist Arizona ganz in der Nähe von den Wohnorten vieler unserer Management-Mitglieder. Dies führt dazu, dass wir in der Lage sind, noch kosteneffizienter zu arbeiten, sowie mehr Experten real auch auf das Projekt zu holen - und sie dort zu "halten".
OG: Alles gut nachvollziehbar und definitiv ein großes Privileg in einem etablierten Minenbezirk im Top-Kupferminen-Staat von Nordamerika zu arbeiten. Werfen wir einen Blick voraus. Was können denn Investoren und interessierte Marktteilnehmer in 2015 noch bei Desert Star erwarten?
VS: Im zweiten Halbjahr 2015 werden wir mit Red Top und Copper King (siehe Map oben) zwei sehr spannende Bohr-Ziele testen. Parallel arbeiten wir hart daran, zusätzliche Finanzierungen einzuholen, um unsere geplanten Arbeitsprogramme im anvisierten Umfang durchführen zu können.
Zudem werden wir weitere Akquisitionen von aussichtsreichen Kupfer-Liegenschaften in Arizona in Betracht ziehen, da wir dort nun ein sehr gutes Standing haben und demnach die Chance haben, an weitere lukrative Projekt-Deals zu kommen. Unserer Hauptkriterium ist natürlich die Qualität. Und daher versuchen wir ähnlich attraktive Kupfer-Properties wie Copper King und Red Top zu ergattern.
In unserer Projekt-Map (siehe oben) können Investoren sehen, dass wir in direkter Nachbarschaft zu aktiven Minen und bedeutenden Entwicklungsprojekten tätig sein werden. So gehören bspw. die Branchengiganten BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Freeport, Asarco und KGHM zu unseren Nachbarn, was für sich sprechen sollte.
OG: Wie steht es um eure aktuelle, finanzielle Situation?
VS: Wir sind vollständig für die in diesem Jahr geplanten Test-Bohr-Programme auf Red Top und Copper King finanziert. Wie ich schon ansprach, arbeiten wir parallel an zusätzlichen Finanzierungen, um unsere Explorations-Programme bei Bedarf erweitern zu können. In jedem Fall möchte ich klarstellen, dass die Management-Mitglieder als signifikante Firmen-Aktionäre, sehr sensibel mit jeglicher Verwässerung umgehen werden und wir mit allen Mitteln versuchen, eine schlanke Aktienstruktur beizubehalten. So kommen für uns auch kreative Finanzierungs-Formen in Betracht, die zu keiner Verwässerung führen wie bspw. einer strategischen Partnerschaft, welche wiederum unsere langfristige Strategie untermauern würde.
OG: Kannst Du uns ein paar Einblicke in die langfristigen Ziele von Desert Star geben?
VS: Sicher. Wir haben uns das Ziel gesetzt, eine der führenden Explorations-Gesellschaften im Südwesten der USA zu werden. Ich denke, dass unser kompetentes Team während der letzten 24 Monate mehr Erfahrungen und technisches Verständnis sammeln konnte und aufgebaut hat, wie keine andere Junior-Explorations-Firma in dieser Region.
Mit diesem Wissen und Erfahrungsschatz, ganz speziell was die Identifikation von attraktiven Oberflächen-Expressionen von eingebetteten Mineral-System angeht, ist es unser Ziel, mehr als 10 hoch qualitative Explorations- und Bohr-Ziele zu erwerben und zu testen. Dadurch sollten wir die besten Chancen haben, eine bedeutende Discovery zu erzielen, welche den Aktionärswert im Hinblick auf die niedrige Marktkapitalisierung massiv steigern lassen würde.
OG: Bitte gebe uns auch ein paar Informationen über eure Story-Unterstützer.
VS: Wir haben erfolgreich eine Re-Organisation abgeschlossen und die neu-formierte Firma wurde vom gegenwärtigen Management und deren nahestehenden Freunden und Partnern finanziert. Seit der Re-Strukturierung haben wir erfolgreich zwei Kapitalmaßnahmen absolviert, die ebenfalls zum Großteil von Insidern übernommen wurden. So gehen wir davon aus, dass sich unsere Aktionärs-Basis gewiss sehen lassen kann. Und jedem Investor wird gefallen, dass sich unsere Interessen mit deren der Aktionäre verschmelzen, da wir selber große Anteilshaber sind und das auch planen zu bleiben.
OG: Wie ist Deine gegenwärtige Einschätzung zum Kupfermarkt?
VS: Ich bin kein Rohstoff-Analyst, aber kann als Ökonom und Geschäftsmann gewiss feststellen, dass die Kupferbranche langfristig sehr solide und attraktive Fundamentals vorweist. Im Hinblick auf den anhaltenden Mega-Trend bei der globalen Urbanisierung, dem Bevölkerungs-Wachstum und dem steigenden Bedarf in der Technologie- und Infrastruktur-Branche, wird Kupfer gewiss ein Rohstoff sein, dessen Nachfrage weiter steigen wird.
Da wir uns als Explorer ganz am Anfang des Kupfer-Minen-Zyklus positioniert haben, gehen wir weiter davon aus, dass uns die Kupferpreise nur sekundär tangieren werden. Denn bedeutende Discoveries in aktiven Minenregionen werden hoch wahrscheinlich in jedem Preis- und Markt-Umfeld Beachtung und Honorierung geschenkt. Die Art von Lagerstätten, die wir anvisieren zu entdecken, werden ohnehin eine Minenlaufzeit von 30-50 Jahren haben und demnach gut in unsere langfristige Strategie passen.
So haben wir dann auch die gute Möglichkeit, in einem "Perfect Storm" voranzuschreiten, in dem das Kupfer-Angebot Schwäche zeigen könnte, während die Nachfrage steigt und die Majors nach neuen Projekten suchen, um ihren Reserven-Verbrauch zu decken.

Den tieferen Lagerstätten wurde bis dahin nicht die größte Beachtung geschenkt, da es natürlich leichter und profitabler für die Kupferunternehmen war, höher-gradige Vorkommen mit Oberflächennähe auszubeuten. Doch das wird sich jetzt zunehmend ändern.
Wir sind sehr optimistisch, dass wir gerade in den etablierten Minenbezirken von einem Kupfer-Staat wie Arizona sehr gute Chancen haben, bedeutende Neuentdeckungen mit dieser anderen Herangehensweise (in puncto Geologie und Lokalisierung des Mineral-Systems) zu erzielen.
Bei der Projekt-Selektion waren wir sehr wählerisch und haben strenge Kriterien angewendet. Vor allem vor dem Hintergrund, da tiefere Vorkommen eine gewisse Größe und attraktive Kupfer-Gehalte vorweisen müssen, um für die großen Minenkonzerne interessant zu sein. Wir haben uns ebenfalls vor Augen geführt, dass wir bei einer erfolgreichen Exploration einige Targets testen müssen, um überhaupt die Chance zu haben, eine signifikante Entdeckung zu erzielen. Mit dem Bohr-Test auf unseren ausgewählten Zielen Red Top und Copper King blicken wir sehr optimistisch in die Zukunft, hier ein großes Potential auf multiple Discoveries zu haben.
OG: Hört sich alles sehr gut an. Weshalb habt ihr euch auf Arizona fokussiert?
VS: Das Business im Südwesten von Amerika, speziell im etablierten Minen-Staat von Arizona, offeriert uns nicht nur eine langjährige Minen-Kultur, sondern ebenfalls beständige Gesetze und eine sehr gute Infrastruktur. Wir sind zudem in einer geopolitisch sehr sicheren Lage und können uns glücklich schätzen, direkt im Herzen einer der am meisten bewährten Kupfer-Minenbezirke der Welt aktiv zu sein.
So kommen wir in den Genuss von einer Chance auf eine Kupfer-Discovery, ohne dabei fürchten zu müssen, dass eine korrupte Regierung uns das Projekt in Zukunft wegnimmt oder die Minen-Gesetze über Nacht ändert. Weiter erwarten wir auch keine negativen Änderungen im Hinblick auf die Besteuerung von Minen-Projekten oder unerwarteten Gegenwind im Projekt-Entwicklungs- und Minen-Genehmigungs-Prozess später. Das sind alles große Vorteile und heute sehr viel wert.
Außerdem ist Arizona ganz in der Nähe von den Wohnorten vieler unserer Management-Mitglieder. Dies führt dazu, dass wir in der Lage sind, noch kosteneffizienter zu arbeiten, sowie mehr Experten real auch auf das Projekt zu holen - und sie dort zu "halten".
OG: Alles gut nachvollziehbar und definitiv ein großes Privileg in einem etablierten Minenbezirk im Top-Kupferminen-Staat von Nordamerika zu arbeiten. Werfen wir einen Blick voraus. Was können denn Investoren und interessierte Marktteilnehmer in 2015 noch bei Desert Star erwarten?
VS: Im zweiten Halbjahr 2015 werden wir mit Red Top und Copper King (siehe Map oben) zwei sehr spannende Bohr-Ziele testen. Parallel arbeiten wir hart daran, zusätzliche Finanzierungen einzuholen, um unsere geplanten Arbeitsprogramme im anvisierten Umfang durchführen zu können.
Zudem werden wir weitere Akquisitionen von aussichtsreichen Kupfer-Liegenschaften in Arizona in Betracht ziehen, da wir dort nun ein sehr gutes Standing haben und demnach die Chance haben, an weitere lukrative Projekt-Deals zu kommen. Unserer Hauptkriterium ist natürlich die Qualität. Und daher versuchen wir ähnlich attraktive Kupfer-Properties wie Copper King und Red Top zu ergattern.
In unserer Projekt-Map (siehe oben) können Investoren sehen, dass wir in direkter Nachbarschaft zu aktiven Minen und bedeutenden Entwicklungsprojekten tätig sein werden. So gehören bspw. die Branchengiganten BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Freeport, Asarco und KGHM zu unseren Nachbarn, was für sich sprechen sollte.
OG: Wie steht es um eure aktuelle, finanzielle Situation?
VS: Wir sind vollständig für die in diesem Jahr geplanten Test-Bohr-Programme auf Red Top und Copper King finanziert. Wie ich schon ansprach, arbeiten wir parallel an zusätzlichen Finanzierungen, um unsere Explorations-Programme bei Bedarf erweitern zu können. In jedem Fall möchte ich klarstellen, dass die Management-Mitglieder als signifikante Firmen-Aktionäre, sehr sensibel mit jeglicher Verwässerung umgehen werden und wir mit allen Mitteln versuchen, eine schlanke Aktienstruktur beizubehalten. So kommen für uns auch kreative Finanzierungs-Formen in Betracht, die zu keiner Verwässerung führen wie bspw. einer strategischen Partnerschaft, welche wiederum unsere langfristige Strategie untermauern würde.
OG: Kannst Du uns ein paar Einblicke in die langfristigen Ziele von Desert Star geben?
VS: Sicher. Wir haben uns das Ziel gesetzt, eine der führenden Explorations-Gesellschaften im Südwesten der USA zu werden. Ich denke, dass unser kompetentes Team während der letzten 24 Monate mehr Erfahrungen und technisches Verständnis sammeln konnte und aufgebaut hat, wie keine andere Junior-Explorations-Firma in dieser Region.
Mit diesem Wissen und Erfahrungsschatz, ganz speziell was die Identifikation von attraktiven Oberflächen-Expressionen von eingebetteten Mineral-System angeht, ist es unser Ziel, mehr als 10 hoch qualitative Explorations- und Bohr-Ziele zu erwerben und zu testen. Dadurch sollten wir die besten Chancen haben, eine bedeutende Discovery zu erzielen, welche den Aktionärswert im Hinblick auf die niedrige Marktkapitalisierung massiv steigern lassen würde.
OG: Bitte gebe uns auch ein paar Informationen über eure Story-Unterstützer.
VS: Wir haben erfolgreich eine Re-Organisation abgeschlossen und die neu-formierte Firma wurde vom gegenwärtigen Management und deren nahestehenden Freunden und Partnern finanziert. Seit der Re-Strukturierung haben wir erfolgreich zwei Kapitalmaßnahmen absolviert, die ebenfalls zum Großteil von Insidern übernommen wurden. So gehen wir davon aus, dass sich unsere Aktionärs-Basis gewiss sehen lassen kann. Und jedem Investor wird gefallen, dass sich unsere Interessen mit deren der Aktionäre verschmelzen, da wir selber große Anteilshaber sind und das auch planen zu bleiben.
OG: Wie ist Deine gegenwärtige Einschätzung zum Kupfermarkt?
VS: Ich bin kein Rohstoff-Analyst, aber kann als Ökonom und Geschäftsmann gewiss feststellen, dass die Kupferbranche langfristig sehr solide und attraktive Fundamentals vorweist. Im Hinblick auf den anhaltenden Mega-Trend bei der globalen Urbanisierung, dem Bevölkerungs-Wachstum und dem steigenden Bedarf in der Technologie- und Infrastruktur-Branche, wird Kupfer gewiss ein Rohstoff sein, dessen Nachfrage weiter steigen wird.
Da wir uns als Explorer ganz am Anfang des Kupfer-Minen-Zyklus positioniert haben, gehen wir weiter davon aus, dass uns die Kupferpreise nur sekundär tangieren werden. Denn bedeutende Discoveries in aktiven Minenregionen werden hoch wahrscheinlich in jedem Preis- und Markt-Umfeld Beachtung und Honorierung geschenkt. Die Art von Lagerstätten, die wir anvisieren zu entdecken, werden ohnehin eine Minenlaufzeit von 30-50 Jahren haben und demnach gut in unsere langfristige Strategie passen.
So haben wir dann auch die gute Möglichkeit, in einem "Perfect Storm" voranzuschreiten, in dem das Kupfer-Angebot Schwäche zeigen könnte, während die Nachfrage steigt und die Majors nach neuen Projekten suchen, um ihren Reserven-Verbrauch zu decken.
