BHP Billiton, Vale: Two dozen missing in vast mudflow of Brazil mine disaster
Die jüngsten Kommentare zur Minen-Katastrophe in Brasilien:
Two dozen missing in vast mudflow of Brazil mine disaster
MARIANA, Brazil, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Rescue teams on Saturday struggled to reach villages devastated by a massive mudflow after two dams burst at a major Brazilian mine, wreaking havoc more than 80 km (50 miles) downstream and prompting officials to warn of a higher death toll.
A dozen residents of nearby villages remain missing, along with 13 workers from the mine, but only one death has been confirmed in what the governor of mineral-rich Minas Gerais described as the state's worst environmental disaster.
"The death toll will rise for sure ... The number of missing will rise because we're talking to the residents of Bento (Rodrigues) and some people still aren't accounted for," Duarte Júnior, mayor of the nearby city of Mariana, told reporters.
City officials released a partial list of missing people, including three children, ages 4 to 7, and a 60-year-old woman from the village, which was swamped by mudslides within a half hour of public warnings.
The mine's operator, Samarco, is co-owned by the world's largest mining company BHP Billiton Ltd and the biggest iron ore miner Vale SA . Clean-up and repairs along miles of flooded river could cost the companies a fortune..

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories -- TerraX Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: TXR; Frankfurt: TX0; OTC Pink: TRXXF) has received results from additional channel sampling of replacement style mineralization in the Hebert-Brent Shear area on its Yellowknife City Gold Project ("YCG"), immediately north of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. Current assays and previously reported assays from cut channel sampling across the strike of multiple zones of mineralization returned:
All zones remain open along and across strike (see comments in table below). These results are important in confirming and expanding the occurrence of multiple zones of mineralization across a sheared area approximately 80 meters wide in the Hebert-Brent Shear area, where results of previous channel sampling included 11.0 m @ 7.55 g/t Au at the H-B zone, 6.0 m @ 10.26 g/t Au at the Hebert-Brent South zone and 15.3 m @ 2.23 g/t Au at the H-B East zone (see our news releases of August 11 and September 8, 2015).
- 4.0 m @ 13.89 g/t Au on the new Brent Zone;
- 17.0 m @ 1.93 g/t Au, including 5.00 m @ 3.18 g/t Au on the original Hebert-Brent Zone ("H-B Zone"); and
- a width expansion of the Hebert-Brent East Zone to 17.86 m @ 2.21 g/t Au ("H-B East Zone") (previously reported as 15.3m @ 2.23 g/t Au).
- 11.00 m @ 7.55 g/t Au on Hebert-Brent Zone (previously reported August 11, 2105)
- 6.00 m @ 10.26 g/t Au on Hebert-Brent South Zone (previously reported September 8, 2015)

Palisade Radio, Latest Interview with Rick Rule: "I Am Too Wise To Call A Bottom In Mining"
Neue Einblicke von Sprott's Rick Rule:
Rick Rule: I Am Too Wise To Call A Bottom In Mining
Rick Rule: I Am Too Wise To Call A Bottom In Mining
10/25/2015 | Palisade Radio | Featured
Is the bottom in? Rick has seen too many cycles to answer a question like that. Despite the many claims, truth is, nobody knows yet. But his previous call for a potential capitulation in October is likely off the table.
Mr. Rule has dedicated his entire adult life to many aspects of natural resources securities investing. In addition, to the knowledge and experience gained in a long, successful and focused career, he has a worldwide network of contacts in the natural resource and finance worlds. As Chairman of Sprott US Holdings, Mr. Rule leads a team of earth science and finance professionals who are experienced with resource investment management.
Talking points of this week’s interview –
• Is there more upside or downside?
• How a US dollar rally will impact the latest rally in miners?
• What type of move off the bottom is indicative of a bull market?
• Silver or gold as a speculation?
• An update on the Sprott offer for Central Gold Trust.
