Hierzu eine informative Grafik - credit to Visual Capitalist:

Andrew Mackenzie's pay at BHP has been cut in half
SEP 21, 2016, 12:12 PM
The personal fortune of Andrew Mackenzie, the CEO of BHP Billiton, has suffered along with the rest of the mining industry.
His annual pay for 2016 was cut in half to $US2.24 million ($A2.97 million) as the world’s biggest miner posted record losses and cut dividends by three-quarters in a low commodity price world..

CHARTS: Maybe India can ignite new commodity supercycle
According to the World Bank, together the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China) consume 40% of global energy and food commodities and over half of the world's metals. China alone accounted for virtually all the increase in metals (aluminum, copper, lead, nickel, tin and zinc) consumption of the BRICs since 1994.
India's consumption of metals almost doubled over the past 20 years. But it's only taken the sub-continent's global share from 1.9% to 3.4% according to the report. By contrast, China's share of worldwide metals consumption went from 6.4% in 1990 to 43.9% last year..

Goldman rains on everyone's parade, says commodities rally won’t last
The recent surge in prices of gold, oil and other commodities has come prematurely, says the bank, arguing that lower prices are needed for markets to rebalance.
Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), one of the most influential banks in commodity markets, poured cold water on the growing belief that metals and oil prices have "bottomed out," and warned the current rally is "not sustainable..."
