Interview mit Fondsmanager John Hathaway über die beste Anlageklasse seit 2000
Lesenswertes Interview mit dem legendären Fondsmanager - credit to Forbes:
AN INTERVIEW WITH John Hathaway, CFA -Chairman and Portfolio Manager, Tocqueville Management Corporation
John Hathaway: Tocqueville Asset Management, which currently manages approximately $12 billion in assets, launched its gold strategy back in 1998 when gold was very disrespected. It was the Rodney Dangerfield of investment ideas. Tocqueville is at its core a contrarian firm. And we thought that in those days, when investors were chasing dot-coms and overpriced technology stocks, we should do something that was value based. That thinking led us to launch the Tocqueville Gold (NASDAQ: TGLDX) fund in 1998. That fund now has about $1.4 billion under management. And in addition, we have another $1 billion or so of separate accounts and funds that we manage for European clients and separate institutional accounts..

Chinese buy world's largest mining project
World number two miner Rio Tinto is exiting the world's largest mining project, by selling its stake in Guinea's Simandou iron ore to partner Chinalco, potentially opening up a new path to development for the $20 billion project.
According to a statement by Melbourne-based Rio the deal is worth between $1.1 billion and $1.3 billion payable when Simandou starts commercial production and based on output. Rio says a final agreement could be inked within six months. In February this year Rio wrote down the value of Simandou by $1.1 billion, before deciding to shelve the project.
Rio owns 46.6% of Simandou south; Chinalco's stake is 41.3% and the Guinea government holds 7.5%. Earlier this month the World Bank's financing arm – the International Finance Corporation – sold its its 4.6% interest. With complete control, Beijing-based Chinalco may revive the stalled project with the backing of the Chinese government..

US-Arbeitsmarktdaten: "The Most Important Ever" Payrolls Preview (Again)
Zur Einstimmung auf das wichtige Ereignis um 14:30 Uhr MEZ:
"The Most Important Ever" Payrolls Preview (Again)
The distribution of guesses for tomorrow's "most important payrolls print ever" or at least until next month, skews modestly to the upside after the biggest spike in ISM employment ever this week jarred some economists to become more optimistic, and side with Goldman Sachs expecting a Fed-inspiring drop in the unemployment rate, rise in average hourly earnings, and better than expected payrolls of 190K. As a result, while consensus expects a NFP rebound from 151K to 172K, the whisper number is around 200k. Anything above this would send December rate hike odds surging to the all important 70% or above, bond yields spiking and equities at the mercy of whichever way the risk parity machines were calibrated tomorrow..

Beginnt der Run auf die Deutsche Bank?
Hierzu ein aktueller Bericht von Zerohedge, der auf die Ereignisse von gestern eingeht:
The Run Begins: Deutsche Bank Hedge Fund Clients Withdraw Excess Cash
Deutsche Bank concerns just went to '11' as Bloomberg reports a number of funds that clear derivatives trades with Deutsche Bank AG have withdrawn some excess cash and positions held at the lender, a sign of counterparties’ mounting concerns about doing business with Europe’s largest investment bank.
While the vast majority of Deutsche Bank’s more than 200 derivatives-clearing clients have made no changes, some funds that use the bank’s prime brokerage service have moved part of their listed derivatives holdings to other firms this week, according to an internal bank document seen by Bloomberg News..
