Produktionsvolumen) Barrick Gold (ABX)..
Newmont's aggressive expansion plans
Newmont Mining is on an aggressive investment (and divestment) program which could see it catapult the company to the top of gold production stakes.
In a presentation at the Gold Forum in the city, Denver-based Newmont outlined projects that will add around 1 million ounces of gold to its portfolio and do so as soon as the middle of next year..

Chinese Gold Mining Giant Targets Overseas Buys as Demand Gains
Shandong Gold Group Co., owner of China’s second-largest gold miner by market value, is seeking to expand overseas to feed rising local demand following bullion’s best quarter in almost three decades.
The Jinan, Shandong province-based miner is targeting assets in countries that have good legal systems and stable political environments, according to General Manager Li Guohong. The focus is both across the One Belt One Road region and in North America, Li said in an interview in Shanghai.
Shandong Gold’s ambitions signal that mining companies in Asia’s top economy are intent on extending their reach as retail demand rises and the country’s central bank boosts its bullion holdings. While China is already the world’s largest gold producer, it’s also the biggest bullion user -- and demand far outstrips local supply. Consumption per person remains below the global level, according to Xu Zhong, deputy director of the financial market department at the People’s Bank of China..

Wegen Ölpreis-Crash: BHP Billiton schreibt 7,2 Mrd. USD auf Fracking-Assets ab

BHP Billiton (BHP) Stock Plunging on $7.2 Billion U.S. Shale Writedown
ByKaya YurieffFollow| 01/15/16 - 10:36 AM EST
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of BHP Billiton (BHP) are diving by 7.93% to $19.96 on Friday morning, as the company announced a $7.2 billion write-down on its U.S. shale assets as a result of volatility and declining prices in the oil and gas industry.
The Australia-based global miner is engaged in the exploration, development, production, processing and marketing of various minerals and conventional and unconventional oil and gas.
The large asset impairment is the third from BHP, which moved into U.S. shale in 2011 when it spent $20.6 billion, including assumed debt, on two acquisitions when oil and gas prices were significantly higher than today, Reuters reported..

Barrick completes sale of 50% of Zaldívar copper mine to Antofagasta
Cecilia Jamasmie | December 1, 2015
Top gold miner Barrick Gold (TSX, NYSE:ABX) announced Tuesday it has completed the sale of a 50% stake in its Zaldívar copper mine in Northern Chile to London-listed Antofagasta Plc (LON:ANTO) for a shade over $1 billion in cash.
"The sale of 50 percent of Zaldívar has strengthened our balance sheet while allowing us to maintain significant exposure to a strong cash-generating operation," Barrick President, Kelvin Dushnisky, said in a statement.
The miner added it has formed a new partnership with Antofagasta that will provide “a platform to collaborate and share knowledge, with the potential to deliver value for both companies."
Zaldívar, an open-pit, heap-leach mine, produced 222 million pounds of copper in 2014, according to Barrick’s website. Proven and probable copper reserves from the mine as at Dec. 31, 2014, were 5.558 billion pounds. Production costs last year were US$1.65 a pound and they are increasing as head grades fall.
Barrick has been selling off assets to tackle a debt pile of $13 billion with a target of wiping out $3 billion this year. The proceeds of Zaldívar’s sale will be used to that purpose, the company said..

“We believe that the current market climate for junior exploration companies remains very challenging and thus requires consolidation and that only companies with attractive assets and supportive shareholder bases will survive this market cycle which may last for years. We believe this transaction provides an excellent opportunity for the shareholders of Goldrush to be part of a leading exploration and development company with a dedicated, focused and experienced management team.”

Goldunzen.
Shareholder Approval Of Arrangements Received
..
Of the votes cast by Gold Canyon shareholders at the Gold Canyon meeting, 99.2% were voted in favour of the special resolution approving the Gold Canyon Arrangement (99.17% after excluding the votes required to be excluded pursuant to Multilateral Instrument 61-101 - Protection of Minority Security Holders in Special Transactionsfor the purposes of determining minority approval for the Gold Canyon Arrangement). Of the votes cast by PC Gold shareholders at the PC Gold meeting, 99.77% were voted in favour of the special resolution approving the PC Gold Arrangement (no votes were required to be excluded pursuant to Multilateral Instrument 61-101 - Protection of Minority Security Holders in Special Transactions for the purposes of determining minority approval for the PC Gold Arrangement)..

Springpole PEA highlights:> 20,000 tonnes/day processing facility> Initial capital cost of US$438 million> Payback period of 1.7 years (non-discounted)> Pre-tax NPV of US$579 million @ $1,300/oz gold price (US$1.03 billion @ $1,600/oz gold price) > IRR (pre-tax) of 25.4% @ $1,300 gold price (36.9% @ US$1,600/oz gold price)> During full production, estimated average annual production 217,000 ozs gold and 1,200,000 ozs silver> Estimated cash cost of US$636/equivalent ounce gold (eq.oz Au) and all-in cost of US$860/eq.oz Au> Strip ratio of 1.7:1

Newmont, Kinross likely to buy Barrick’s US gold assets
Cecilia Jamasmie | September 21, 2015

Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) (TSX:NMC) and Kinross Gold (TSX:K) (NYSE:KGC) are likely to buy a package of six U.S. gold assets that Barrick Gold (TSX, NYSE:ABX) is trying to sell, an investment banking source told Reuters.
The president of the world’s largest bullion producer, Kelvin Dushnisky, only said he expected the imminent deal to close before the end of the year, but declined to put a value on the asset package, which includes Bald Mountain, Round Mountain, Spring Valley, Ruby Hill, Hilltop and Golden Sunlight assets.
According to analysts and investment bankers, however, the mines up for sale could bring in between $500 million and $700 million.
The amount will be used towards Barrick’s goal of raising at least $3 billion this year to reduce its $12.9 billion debt.
In an interview ahead of this week’s Denver Gold Forum, Dushnisky told Bloomberg that Barrick is already 90% through its debt-reduction plan.
Last week, the Toronto-based miner announced the closing of its Salt Lake City office, which along with the unwinding of its copper business will help Barrick save US$2 billion by the end of 2016.
After supporting the Barrick’s core Nevada operations for nearly two decades, the Salt Lake office, which employs about 110 staff, will close in November. It follows the shutdown of Barrick’s Perth bureau and job cuts in its Santiago office.
The firm’s standalone copper unit, established after the firm bought pure copper company Equinox Minerals in 2011, will no longer be a distinct division within Barrick. The copper unit’s managers and staff will be laid off and the overhead expenses related to the separate business will be cut.
Barrick’s stock is trading around Cdn$9 a share, a low not seen since 1989.

Barrick Announces Agreement to Divest Cowal Mine
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 24, 2015) - Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX) (TSX:ABX) (Barrick or the "company") today announced it has reached an agreement to sell 100 percent of the Cowal mine in New South Wales, Australia to Evolution Mining for US$550 million in cash on closing.
"The sale of Cowal is consistent with the strategy we have outlined to create long-term value for our owners, making a significant contribution to our debt reduction target while further focusing the geographic footprint of our portfolio," said Co-President Kelvin Dushnisky. "We are pleased to have achieved a successful outcome following a competitive auction process in the first of several asset sales now underway. We would like to extend our gratitude to our Cowal employees, who have made a significant contribution to Barrick since the mine began production in 2006, and we wish them future success as part of the Evolution team."
Proceeds from the sale of Cowal will be used to pay down debt. The divestment of Cowal will also contribute to reduced general and administrative costs as Barrick completes the closure of its office in Perth, Australia. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2015 and is subject to customary closing conditions.
Evolution Mining was created in late 2011 as a mid-tier Australian gold producer through a merger of Catalpa Resources and Conquest Mining. Evolution currently operates five gold and silver mines in Queensland and Western Australia. For the year ended June 30, 2014 the company produced approximately 428,000 gold equivalent ounces.
Credit Suisse is acting as financial advisor to Barrick. Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP and Herbert Smith Freehills LLP are acting as legal counsel to Barrick..
